Description
In the ever-present style of William Morris and his own legatee, J.H. Dearle, The Owl and Pigeon is a symphony of line work and colour. Burgundy shading to gold provide an expression of autumn, while blues and greens mixed with fawn highlight tiny white flowers. Pairs of owls guard the principal design flowers cast in shaded red with yellow centres, whilst Nicola’s pigeons hold court beneath.
