Description
Proclaimed the floral emblem of Tasmania in 1962, the Tasmanian Blue Gum is an evergreen tree, one of the most widely cultivated trees native to Australia. Broad juvenile leaves are covered with a blue-grey, waxy bloom and this is the origin of the common name, while mature leaves are narrow, sickle-shaped and dark shining green. The cream flowers produce copious nectar which yields honey.
