Description
Carole Lovatt produced five special designs, on various shapes, which Moorcroft produced using the blue-on-blue ‘engobe’ technique. A dry but unfired vase is dipped in blue slip (liquid clay). The moisture sinks into the dry body leaving a light blue skin covering the surface. As soon as the tubelining is dry, it is painted using only various shades of cobalt blue. Simple, organic in form and most attractive.
