Description
The beetles pot, as The Gardeners became known at the Works, broke new ground for Moorcroft in style and subject matter. Moorcroft traditionalists suggested that collectors would turn their backs on scarab beetles. How wrong they were. Black scarab beetles occupy the base and shoulder of Kerry’s art deco vase with stylised panels in black, maroon and light shades of ochre.
