Description
When Henry VII took the crown of England from Richard III in battle in 1485 he brought to an end, the retrospectively dubbed “War of the Roses”, between the House of Lancaster (red rose) and the House of York (white rose). The Tudor rose is a combination of both Houses and the traditional floral heraldic emblem of England. Sally’s stylised roses unite the red and white on a dark olive ground.
