Description
The hibiscus is a genus of flowering plant comprising several hundred species throughout the world. Drawn circa 1949 from pressed flowers sent to Walter from Jamaica, the hibiscus evolved in different colourways and on different grounds from the early 1960s through to 1986. The tropical colours of Walter’s hibiscus flowers are emphasized by the flambe glazes as the design travels around the vase.
