Description
Compton Hall was built between 1840 and 1850. William Morris & Co designed some of the wallpapers for the house in 1896, which were thought to be Morris’ last wallpaper designs and were aptly named Compton. Rachel’s offering of rich colours, exotic flowers and meandering leaves are characteristic of, and a fitting tribute to, Morris’ work. This vase is signed by the senior designer.
