Description
These demonstration sets are never available to Collectors or the general public. ①Basic form of the vase is cast with slip (liquid clay). ②Piece is hand turned on the lathe to refine the finish. ③ Inked outline is then rubbed onto the surface. Tube-lining is the application of liquid clay.④ After drying, multiple washes of colour are applied before being effected at high temperatures in the kiln. ⑤After the first (biscuit) firing, the pot is immersed into liquid glaze. ⑥ The pot is then fired again, the white glaze melts into a thin layer of translucent glass, which brings out the brilliance of the colours.
