Description
Lone Pine is a small sandy cove in Turkey, which became the main base for Australian and New Zealand troops during the Gallipoli campaign. A safe plot of land where soldiers and supplies could be brought ashore, ANZAC Cove was subject to relentless shelling, causing casualties and death. The official insignia of the Australian Army, the Rising Sun badge shrouds the beach in this special tribute.
