Description
Demonstrating the alternative colourway technique to great effect, Shirley Hayes created Astrantia. Designed and produced exclusively for Open Weekend 1999, Astrantia came in a number of deceptively simple colourways. Commonly known as Masterwort, it is a hardy, herbaceous perennial, beloved by butterflies and bees. The vase on offer depicts stylised Astrantia blooms on a burgundy ground.
