Description
Anemones are called ‘wind flowers’, derived from the Greek word Anemoi which in English means ‘winds’. William’s pre-war design was used regularly by Walter from 1945 until 1975, at which time, he redrew it. This annual plate sees Walter’s version of the new Anemone design showing flowers and a bud gently stretching around the outer edges of the plate on a royal blue ground.
